DROA is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the protection and promotion of human rights and equality. Their community was built with the aim of empowering youth regardless of their gender identity, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, or any other social identifier, to start making the social change they aspire to see in their own communities!

For their upcoming project (August-September 2020-2021), DROA wants to bring people with shared ideologies and political views together to create street artworks supporting social change in Belgium.

Project Objectives:

  • Explore, reflect and discuss the human rights challenges we are facing in Belgium 

  • Share and discuss different practices of Human Rights activism, focusing on creative expressions 

  • Meet and connect with other artists and activists 

  • Acquire savoir-faire in different methods of street art 

  • Create artworks in the public spaces of Ghent and Brussels.

How can you help?

DROA is looking for:

  • Visual artists willing to take action on social change

  • Volunteers eager to participate in a human rights project and support us with different tasks (e.g. communications and social media management during the activities; taking photos of the created artworks, as well as capturing the moments of the project; making videos and creating the after-movie, etc.)
